MAIN TASK | THUMBNAIL | Production Diary

The video on my playthrough of Super Meat Boy needed a recognisable thumbnail so I went online in search of good examples for recognisable thumbnails. I looked at the thumbnails for Markiplier, Jacksepticeye, and Game Grumps to come up with a general idea and I came up with a layout;

I'm going to use this image for the background and add the number of the episode in the top right, I'll need to find somewhere on it for my logo as well, I was thinking in one of the eyes maybe to make it have the same effect as Jacksepticeye's thumbnails (making it more recognisable to fans) and if I do put it in the eyes it will be quick to notice as the eyes are most noticed part of the face.


This is what I managed to create.

By moving the background image to the left it created space for the episode number. I chose green for the number because it stands out on a red background like this and it is the same shade of green as my logo.
I decided the logo would work well in the right eye, its more central to the image, it stands out, and I was going to put it in the gap of his teeth but it would have been harder to see because of the white teeth.
